Gas stations, public restrooms, and no shoes…

My feet smell like gas! Not the kind of gas that is created from Mexican food, the petroleum kind that goes in my car. I ‘ve never realized how dirty gas stations are until I pulled up to one this morning. That’s not entirely true, I always notice how dirty gas stations are when it rains. But today it’s not raining. It’s a beautiful day — yet the residue of gas still lingers on the concrete and now on my feet.

Not only do my feet smell like gas, but I just used a public restroom at the office. Guys are not know for being very accurate…need I say more?!? The good news is that the stall “seemed” clean. We’ll just assume it was clean and not think anymore about it! Needless to say, I won’t be going to the bathroom again until it’s absolutely necessary.

The challenge: when you go into a public bathroom today, or pump gas at a gas station be thankful for shoes. Then think about how much money you spend on 1 pair of shoes — $20, $60, $150 — and consider giving that same amount sometime over the next 10 days. You will be making a real and lasting difference in the life of a child.
